Shipping and Pickup
This document describes how items bought on Budna are delivered and what buyers and sellers do for each delivery method: parcels through Budna, shipping arranged by the seller, and pickup. It also covers combined shipping, when delivery counts as complete and when the seller is paid, what happens if something goes wrong in transit, cancellations and returns, and which address details are shared. It forms part of the User Agreement and applies together with the Payment Terms, the Buyer Rules, and the Budna Rules.

Policies that form part of this agreement
1. Scope and roles
1.1 The purchase agreement is made directly between the buyer and the seller, and Budna is not a party to it (see Payment Terms).
1.2 Depending on the delivery method the buyer has chosen, the seller packs the item and hands it in to the carrier, sends it in the seller’s own way, or hands it over at pickup.
1.3 The buyer chooses the delivery method, keeps the delivery address on Budna correct, and collects the parcel or receives the item.
1.4 For parcels through Budna, shipping is booked through Budna under Budna’s agreements with the carriers. The shipping label is downloaded in Budna, and tracking is shown on the order.
1.5 Nothing in this document limits a buyer’s mandatory statutory rights when buying from a business seller (see Buyer Rules).
1.6 The seller must pack the item so that it withstands normal handling in transit, taking into account the item’s nature, size and value and the carrier’s instructions. Budna recommends packing extra securely: a sturdy outer box, shock-absorbing filling around the item and particular care with fragile items. What applies if an item is damaged in transit is set out in section 9.
2. Choosing a delivery method
2.1 A listing offers one or more of these delivery methods: a parcel through Budna to a service point (section 3), where the seller has entered the package size and weight; shipping arranged by the seller (section 4), where the seller has set a shipping price and this delivery method is available on Budna; and pickup (section 5), where the seller allows it. An active listing must offer at least one of them.
2.2 The buyer chooses the delivery method on the order before paying. For a parcel through Budna and for shipping arranged by the seller, one of the buyer’s saved addresses on Budna is used as the delivery address.
2.3 Once payment has started, the delivery method, shipping price, and delivery address can no longer be changed.
2.4 If the carriers are temporarily unable to accept bookings, no parcel options are shown. Other delivery methods offered by the listing can still be chosen.
2.5 When an order is part of a combined-shipping request, the delivery method is chosen for the whole parcel (section 6).
3. Parcels through Budna (DSV and PostNord)
3.1 Parcels through Budna are sent with DSV or PostNord. Checkout shows those of these carriers that can currently accept bookings. If the seller has named in the listing the carriers the seller ships with, only those are offered.
3.2 The parcel is sent to a service point that the buyer chooses from those the carrier offers for the delivery address. Home delivery is not offered.
3.3 For parcels within Sweden, the shipping price is calculated from Budna’s agreements with the carriers (13.1).
3.4 The seller enters the package size and weight in the listing. The sizes are small (up to 1 kg), medium (up to 5 kg), large (up to 10 kg), and extra large (up to 20 kg), and the weight may not exceed the limit for the chosen size.
3.5 The shipping price is shown at checkout before payment (section 13).
3.6 Once the order has been paid, the seller books the parcel and downloads the shipping label in Budna. The booking is based on the paid order: the carrier, service point, delivery address, package size, and weight cannot be changed when booking. The seller then hands the parcel in to the carrier.
3.7 Tracking is updated automatically with the carrier’s events. The order is shown as shipped when the carrier first registers the parcel, and as delivered when the carrier reports the parcel as delivered.
4. Shipping arranged by the seller
4.1 This delivery method is offered where it is available on Budna and the seller has set a shipping price in the listing. A shipping price of zero means free shipping.
4.2 The seller decides how to send the item and sends it to the delivery address on the order. Budna does not book the shipment and has no tracking information for it.
4.3 Once the order has been paid and the item has been sent, the seller marks the order as shipped in Budna and enters the shipment’s tracking number if it has one.
4.4 The item counts as delivered when the buyer confirms delivery in Budna, or when Budna has checked that the carrier’s tracking shows the shipment as delivered to the buyer. The seller marking the order as shipped, or a shipping label or proof of postage, is not in itself proof of delivery. Without the buyer’s confirmation or checked tracking, the item does not count as delivered and the payment is not released for payout; Budna then reminds the buyer to confirm delivery or open a dispute. The item does not count as delivered while a dispute, a refund, a withdrawal request, or a hold on the payment is open for the order.
4.5 A buyer who has not received the item should open a dispute (section 9).
5. Pickup
5.1 Pickup is offered where the seller allows it in the listing. Pickup has no shipping cost.
5.2 The buyer and the seller agree on a time and place, for example in messages on Budna.
5.3 The item must be paid for on Budna before the handover; only a paid order can be confirmed at pickup. Payment in cash or in any other way outside Budna is not covered by Budna’s protection.
5.4 At the handover, the seller shows a single-use code (a QR code) in Budna. The buyer scans the code and confirms in Budna that the item has been received. The seller can create a new code or revoke the code.
5.5 The buyer’s confirmation counts as delivery. For pickup, the buyer’s approval at the handover is the inspection of the item: the inspection window is open until the buyer has scanned the seller’s code and approved the item, and there is no 48-hour inspection window after the handover. The payment is released for payout to the seller as soon as the handover has been confirmed, whether the seller is a private individual or a business seller, so the buyer should inspect the item before confirming (see Payment Terms, section 2.3).
5.6 The handover cannot be confirmed while a dispute, a refund, a withdrawal request, or a hold on the payment exists for the order.
6. Combined shipping
6.1 A buyer with between 2 and 25 unpaid orders from the same seller can send a combined-shipping request, asking the seller to send the items together in one parcel. The orders must be in the same currency, every listing must allow combined shipping, and, if the seller has named carriers in the listings, the listings must have at least one carrier in common. A buyer with outstanding fees cannot send a combined-shipping request (see Payment Terms).
6.2 If the seller’s saved shipping rules cover all the items, the request is answered immediately. Otherwise, the seller has 48 hours to confirm the parcel or decline the request. If the seller does not answer within that time, the request ends and the orders are not combined, unless the buyer has already chosen pickup for the whole parcel (6.3).
6.3 The buyer chooses the delivery method for the whole parcel. A parcel through Budna and shipping arranged by the seller can be chosen once the seller has confirmed the parcel; pickup can be chosen straight away if every listing allows pickup. The buyer pays for the items, the shipping, and any fees in a single payment, no later than 72 hours after the request was sent. The parcel has one shipping price and, where it is shipped, is sent as one shipment.
6.4 The Buyer Protection fee is calculated separately for each order in the parcel to which Buyer Protection applies (see Payment Terms).
6.5 A combined-shipping request follows the Buy Now reservation rules: if it is not paid in time, no fee is charged automatically for the Buy Now reservations in it, and the request counts as at most one abandoned reservation, however many orders it includes (see Payment Terms). An auction win, accepted offer or binding Buy Now purchase included in the request keeps its own payment deadlines, which the request does not extend, and remains subject to the rules for unpaid auction wins, accepted offers and binding Buy Now purchases, including the rules on the non-payment fee and the buyer cancellation fee.
7. Payment windows
7.1 How long the buyer has to pay depends on how the order was created: a binding Buy Now purchase (confirmed by the buyer before paying), a Buy Now reservation (where the order is only created when the buyer starts paying), an auction win, an accepted offer, or a combined-shipping request. The deadlines and what applies when payment is not made are set out in the Payment Terms, including the rules for unpaid auction wins, accepted offers and binding Buy Now purchases and for abandoned reservations.
7.2 Delivery cannot start before the order is paid: a parcel through Budna can be booked, an order with shipping arranged by the seller can be marked as shipped, and a pickup can be confirmed only once payment has been made.
8. Delivery and payout
8.1 An item counts as delivered: for a parcel through Budna, when the carrier reports the parcel as delivered; for shipping arranged by the seller, when the buyer confirms delivery or automatically under 4.4; and for pickup, when the buyer confirms the handover under 5.4.
8.2 The payment is released for payout to the seller 48 hours after delivery where the item was shipped, and when the handover is confirmed where the item was picked up. This applies both when buying from a private seller and when buying from a business seller.
8.3 When buying from a business seller, the payout is not postponed until the consumer’s withdrawal period has expired. If the buyer exercises the right of withdrawal after the payment has been released, the seller repays the buyer directly (section 11 and Payment Terms, section 7.1).
8.4 The payout is postponed for as long as a dispute, a refund, a withdrawal request, an agreed return (11.7), or a hold on the payment is open for the order. The payout itself is made by the Payment Partner under the Payment Terms.
9. Problems in transit
9.1 If an item does not arrive, arrives damaged, or does not match the listing, the buyer can open a dispute on the order. A dispute can be opened until the payout to the seller has started (section 8). After that, the matter can no longer be raised as a dispute in Budna, but the buyer can contact Budna Customer Support. When opening a dispute, the buyer can ask for a return; a return agreed in the dispute follows the agreed-return rules (11.7), including booking return shipping in Budna. Where Budna decides that a Buyer Protection claim is valid and that the item must be returned, 11.4 applies to the return shipping.
9.2 An open dispute postpones the payout to the seller (8.4) and prevents a shipment arranged by the seller from counting as delivered (4.4).
9.3 If the carrier reports that a parcel to the buyer has been returned or could not be delivered, that event does not by itself trigger any automatic action: the order is not cancelled and no refund is made. The buyer or the seller should then open a dispute or contact Budna Customer Support. What applies to a return parcel the seller does not collect is set out in 11.8.
9.4 If an item arrives damaged, the buyer is covered by Buyer Protection whether the damage was caused by the packaging or by the carrier. The buyer should photograph the outer packaging, the inner packaging and the item, and keep the packaging until the case is decided. If the buyer suspects before unpacking that the parcel is damaged or poorly packed, the buyer should film the unpacking, as that gives the strongest evidence in the case.
9.5 If the damage occurred because the item was not packed in accordance with 1.6, the seller must repay the Refund-Liable Amount (see Payment Terms). If a parcel through Budna was packed in accordance with 1.6, the seller keeps the payment; Budna then bears the cost towards the buyer, within the caps in the Payment Terms, and pursues the matter with the carrier, and the seller must on request provide the information and evidence needed for the damage claim. For shipping arranged by the seller, Budna does not compensate transit damage: the seller is then liable towards the buyer for the Refund-Liable Amount, even if the item was packed in accordance with 1.6, and must seek compensation from the seller’s own carrier.
10. Seller obligations
10.1 The seller must send the item without undue delay and no later than 5 days after the order has been paid, or, for pickup, hand it over at the time the buyer and seller agree, using the delivery method the buyer chose and to the delivery address or service point shown on the order (see Budna Rules).
10.2 For consumer purchases from a business seller, the item must be delivered without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded, unless otherwise expressly agreed. The buyer’s rights in the event of late delivery are set out in the Buyer Rules.
10.3 If the item has not been sent 7 days after the order was paid – for a parcel through Budna: the carrier has not registered the parcel; for shipping arranged by the seller: the seller has not marked the order as shipped – Budna cancels the order automatically. The buyer then gets back everything the buyer has paid for the order through Budna to the original payment method, including the shipping, the Buyer Protection fee and the Service fee, a shipping label already created is voided, and the seller owes Budna a seller cancellation fee (see Payment Terms, section 7.6b, and Payment Terms, section 4.10). The automatic cancellation does not apply to pickup or in-store purchases. The obligation to send within 5 days under 10.1 is not affected: a buyer whose item has not been sent within 5 days of payment, or is not handed over at pickup, can open a dispute (section 9) and is then entitled to cancel the purchase. If the item was never sent or handed over, the buyer then gets back everything the buyer has paid for the order, including the shipping, the Buyer Protection fee and the Service fee (section 13.7).
10.4 The seller can cancel a paid order only as long as the item has not been sent: for a parcel through Budna before the carrier has registered the parcel, for shipping arranged by the seller before the seller has marked the order as shipped, and for pickup before the handover has been confirmed. The buyer then gets back everything the buyer has paid for the order through Budna to the original payment method, including the shipping, the Buyer Protection fee and the Service fee, a shipping label already created is voided, and the seller owes Budna a seller cancellation fee (see Payment Terms, section 4.10). Once the item has been sent or handed over, the seller cannot cancel the order; a problem is then resolved through an agreed return (11.7) or a dispute (section 9) (see Payment Terms, section 7.6a).
11. Cancellation and returns
11.1 The statutory right of withdrawal applies when a consumer buys from a business seller (see Buyer Rules). Purchases from private sellers are not covered by a right of withdrawal; problems with such purchases are handled through a dispute (section 9) or an agreed return (11.7).
11.2 In Budna, the right of withdrawal can be exercised from the time delivery has been recorded and as long as the payment for the order has not yet been released for payout to the seller (section 8). Before the item has been sent, a buyer who is a consumer can cancel the order instead (11.6). This does not affect the statutory 14-day withdrawal period from when the buyer received the item: throughout the withdrawal period, the buyer can notify the seller in another clear way, for example using the model withdrawal form.
11.3 Where the right of withdrawal has been exercised in Budna, the buyer sends the item back tracked, with return shipping booked in Budna or in their own way with a tracking number the buyer enters in Budna (11.4), within 14 days of the buyer giving notice of the withdrawal (11.9). The refund to the buyer is started through the Payment Partner once the seller has marked the item as received in Budna or, where the return was booked in Budna, automatically 48 hours after the carrier has registered that the seller has collected the return parcel, unless the seller has opened a dispute before then. If the seller does not collect the return parcel, 11.8 applies. The buyer then gets back everything the buyer has paid for the order except the Buyer Protection fee. Where the payment has already been released when the buyer exercises the right of withdrawal, the seller repays the buyer directly, and the seller and the buyer agree between themselves how the return and the refund are to be handled, within the limits of the buyer’s statutory rights (see Payment Terms, section 7.1).
11.4 A return must always be sent tracked. Where Budna decides that a Buyer Protection claim is valid – the item does not match the description or has been damaged, as Budna assesses it – and that the item must be returned, Budna provides a return label at no cost to the buyer if the item was sent as a parcel through Budna; the return then goes with the same carrier and in the same parcel size as the parcel to the buyer, and the buyer must use that return label. Where the item was not sent as a parcel through Budna, the buyer sends the return tracked in their own way and is reimbursed for the documented cost of the return shipping through Buyer Protection. The cost of the return shipping is charged to the seller as part of the Refund-Liable Amount, and when the return arrives everything the buyer has paid for the order is refunded except the Buyer Protection fee, whether the seller is a private individual or a business seller (see Payment Terms, section 7.3). Outside such a return, the buyer pays the return shipping, whether the return is booked in Budna or sent in the buyer’s own way. On a withdrawal and on an agreed return (11.7), the buyer can book the return shipping in Budna if the item was sent as a parcel through Budna. The return then goes with the same carrier and in the same parcel size as the parcel to the buyer, from the address the item was delivered to, to the service point nearest the seller’s sender address, and the buyer pays the price under 13.8 to Budna in advance by Swish or card. The buyer can also send the return in their own way with tracked shipping and enter the shipment’s tracking number in Budna.
11.5 If the item was part of combined shipping, the shared shipping cost for the parcel is not refunded.
11.6 When buying from a business seller, a buyer who is a consumer can cancel a paid order in Budna as long as the item has not been sent: for a parcel through Budna before the carrier has registered the parcel, for shipping arranged by the seller before the seller has marked the order as shipped, and for pickup before the handover has been confirmed. Everything the buyer has paid for the order is refunded through Budna, including the shipping and the fees, and a shipping label the seller has already created is voided (see Payment Terms, section 7.6). Purchases made with a company account are not covered.
11.7 The buyer and the seller can also agree on a return, including when buying from a private seller, for example in messages on Budna or in a dispute (section 9). The seller approves the return on the order in Budna, and only then can return shipping be booked in Budna. The buyer sends the return tracked (11.4) within 7 days of the seller approving the return (11.9). If the payment is still held, the payout is postponed until the return has been settled, and the buyer is refunded through Budna once the seller has marked the item as received or, where the return was booked in Budna, automatically 48 hours after the carrier has registered that the seller has collected the return parcel, unless the seller has opened a dispute before then; if the seller does not collect the return parcel, 11.8 applies. For a purchase from a private seller, the item price and the shipping are then refunded but not the Buyer Protection fee and the Service fee; for a purchase from a business seller, everything except the Buyer Protection fee is refunded. If the payment has already been released, the seller is responsible for the refund and settles it with the buyer. Either the buyer or the seller can call off the return before a return label has been booked in Budna or, where the return is sent in the buyer’s own way, before the parcel has been sent. Once a return label has been booked and paid in Budna, neither the return label nor the return can be cancelled by the buyer or the seller (see Payment Terms, sections 7.7–7.9).
11.8 If the seller does not collect a return parcel booked in Budna within the carrier’s storage time at the pickup point – that is, the carrier reports the parcel as returned or undeliverable, or 14 days have passed since the parcel arrived at the pickup point – the return counts as received, and the buyer is refunded through Budna anyway, in the same way as when the seller has marked the item as received. If the parcel then comes back to the buyer, the buyer must keep the item available to the seller for 30 days and, if the seller asks, send it to the seller at the seller’s expense (see Payment Terms, section 7.8).
11.9 An agreed return and a return after a valid Buyer Protection claim must be sent within 7 days of the seller approving the return or Budna making its decision, as the case may be. Where a return label has been booked, the buyer nevertheless always has at least 7 days from the booking to hand in the parcel. On a withdrawal, the item must be sent within 14 days of the buyer giving notice of the withdrawal. If the return is not sent in time, it lapses in Budna: a payout to the seller postponed because of the return continues, and a paid return label is not refunded. On a withdrawal from a purchase from a business seller, this does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights; the seller then handles the refund directly with the buyer. If the dispute the return came from ends before the parcel has been handed in – because the buyer and the seller settle, because the buyer withdraws the dispute or because Budna decides it without a return – the return is closed automatically, and a return label the buyer paid for is refunded to the buyer (see Payment Terms, section 7.9).
12. Addresses and contact details
12.1 The delivery address is taken from the buyer’s saved addresses on Budna and must include a street address, postal code, and city. The buyer is responsible for the address being correct.
12.2 The seller sees the buyer’s name and delivery address on the order.
12.3 When a parcel through Budna is booked, Budna gives the carrier the following details: the buyer’s name on Budna, delivery address, and chosen service point; the buyer’s email address and, if the account has one, phone number; and the seller’s name on Budna and sender address. When the buyer books a return in Budna, or Budna provides a return label (11.4), Budna likewise gives the carrier the buyer’s name on Budna and the address the item was delivered to, as sender, and the seller’s name on Budna and sender address, as recipient.
12.4 On a return, the item is sent back to the seller. The return label and the return tracking may therefore show the seller’s name and sender address or the service point the return is sent to.
12.5 The shipping label for a parcel to the buyer can only be downloaded by the seller. A return label the buyer books in Budna, or that Budna provides after a valid Buyer Protection claim, is created by the buyer.
12.6 How Budna processes personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Shipping prices and fees
13.1 For a parcel through Budna within Sweden, the price is made up of the carrier’s contract price for the package size, including any fuel surcharge, plus Budna’s shipping fee, plus VAT, rounded up to whole kronor. The shipping price for a parcel through Budna is shown at checkout before payment.
13.2 The buyer pays the shipping for a parcel through Budna. That part of the payment goes to Budna, which books the shipment with the carrier, and is not paid out to the seller.
13.3 For shipping arranged by the seller, the seller sets the shipping price. The buyer’s payment for shipping is paid out to the seller together with the payment for the item.
13.4 Pickup has no shipping cost.
13.5 For combined shipping, one shipping price is paid for the whole parcel (section 6).
13.6 The Buyer Protection fee and other fees are charged in addition to shipping and are set out in the Payment Terms.
13.7 If a paid order is cancelled before the item has been sent, including where Budna cancels it automatically (10.3), the shipping is refunded to the buyer in full. For a parcel through Budna, Budna refunds the shipping; for shipping arranged by the seller, the shipping is part of the seller’s share of the payment and is refunded together with it. For returns or refunds after the item has been sent, the Payment Terms and mandatory law apply.
13.8 Return shipping the buyer books in Budna (11.4) costs the same as a parcel through Budna of the same size with the same carrier under 13.1. The price is shown before the buyer pays, is paid to Budna in advance, and is not paid out to the seller. A return label Budna provides after a valid Buyer Protection claim (11.4) is free of charge for the buyer; its cost is charged to the seller.
