What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer, tablet, mobile phone or other device when you visit a website or read a message. Cookies allow a website to recognise a specific device or browser.

Session cookies

Session cookies remain active as long as your browser is open and allow us to connect your actions during the current browser session.

Persistent cookies

Persistent cookies are stored on your device between browser sessions, allowing us to remember your settings or actions across multiple sites.

How we use cookies

Essential cookies

These cookies are necessary for our website to function properly.
  • User authentication and security.
  • Remembering your cookie choices.
  • Preventing fraudulent activity.

Performance cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website.
  • Analysing website traffic and usage patterns.
  • Improving website performance and user experience.

Functional cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation.
  • Remembering your preferences and settings.
  • Personalising content and recommendations.

Targeting cookies

Targeting and marketing cookies are used to deliver relevant advertisements and measure their effectiveness. These cookies are set only with your prior, freely given, specific and informed consent via our cookie banner. They are never deployed on the basis of legitimate interest. You may withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie preferences; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Where these cookies process personal data, the lawful basis is GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) (consent).
  • Showing relevant product recommendations.
  • Measuring advertising effectiveness.
The table below itemises the cookies and similar technologies we and our processors set. We keep this list in sync with what is actually deployed.

Third-party cookies

We work with a small number of third parties whose technology may store or read information on your device through our services:
  • Analytics: OpenPanel, loaded only with your consent.
  • Payment and identity providers: when you pay or verify your identity, you may be redirected to the Payment Partner’s or BankID’s own pages, which set their own cookies under their own policies.

Managing your cookies

Legal references: ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC Article 5(3); GDPR Article 7(3); EDPB Guidelines 05/2020 on consent, paragraphs 38, 79 to 87, 86, and 114 to 117; CJEU judgment in Case C-673/17 Planet49.
You have several options for managing cookies on our website.
When you first visit budna.se, a cookie consent banner asks you to choose Accept all, Only necessary, or Customize, with the accept and reject options given equal prominence. Strictly necessary cookies (authentication, CSRF protection) are set immediately because they are required to deliver the service you requested. Analytics, marketing and personalisation technologies are blocked until you give explicit, granular consent and remain blocked if you choose Only necessary. The default consent state for non-essential categories is OFF.
You can withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time, and doing so is as easy as giving it. Click the Cookie preferences link in the site footer (available on every page) to reopen the consent banner and change or revoke your choices. Signed-in users can also review and change their consents under Profile > Consent settings. Withdrawal takes effect immediately for future processing; it does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled.

Browser settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually find these settings in the "Options" or "Preferences" menu.

Third-party advertising

We do not currently use third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels. If that changes, this policy and the consent banner will be updated first, and industry opt-out tools (such as youronlinechoices.eu) will be linked here.

Data security

We implement physical, technical and organisational security measures to protect information collected through cookies.
  • Encryption of data transmission.
  • Secure storage of cookie data.
  • Periodic security reviews.

Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on our website.

Important notes

  • Some features may not function properly if you disable cookies.
  • Third-party cookies are subject to their respective privacy policies.
  • Your cookie preferences and browser settings are respected.
